Anti-Bullying

GNPS Anti-Bullying Policy and Procedures

Bullying at school is a serious matter and is not acceptable in NSW public schools. Griffith North Public School teachers have recently reviewed our school anti-bullying policy. It is important for parents and students to be aware of this policy and of the procedures the school has in place for dealing with incidents of bullying at our school.

The school has in place comprehensive programs to prevent bullying and procedures to intervene when bullying takes place. If parents or students are concerned about bullying at school please report your concerns immediately to your class teacher or Mr Murphy AP (Behaviour).

The school will treat your concerns seriously. The report will be investigated thoroughly and in a timely manner. Parents and students will be informed of the outcomes of the investigation and any action that occurs as a result of the report.

The school will provide appropriate support for students who have been bullied. Bullying behaviours will be dealt with under the school discipline and welfare policy.

Parents and caregivers can assist the school in dealing with bullying by;

·         supporting your children to become responsible citizens and to develop responsible on-line behaviour

·         being aware of the school Anti-bullying Plan and assisting their children in understanding bullying behaviour

·         supporting their children in developing positive responses to incidents of bullying consistent with the school Anti-bullying Plan

·         reporting  incidents of school related bullying behaviour to the school

·         working collaboratively with the school to resolve incidents of bullying when they occur.
