The school provides an attractive, stimulating, organised learning environment where students feel safe, valued and respected. Students are encouraged to be actively involved in and enthusiastic about their learning, to display pride in their achievements and to take responsibility for both their learning and their behaviour.

The school's culture focuses around the values of responsibility, excellence, democracy, integrity, care, cooperation, fairness, participation and respect. Through a balanced curriculum it provides opportunities to enable all students to achieve at their optimum performance level. There is an emphasis on providing a high standard of teaching and learning in literacy and numeracy as well as a wide variety of sports and extra curricula activities such as choir, public speaking, debating and dance. We provide opportunities for the use of technology in all Key Learning Areas in all Years K-6. Griffith North Public School is very proud of the strong partnership that exists between its students, parents and teachers working together.

Griffith North Public School aims to provide an engaging learning environment where we foster the values of care, respect and responsibility within our students. At Griffith North Public School, we believe in differentiating teaching to ensure that learning is personalised, so that all students are challenged, motivated and curious about their learning. Finding success in their education and valuing learning are crucial to thriving at school. Our mission is to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and considerate students with passion for lifelong learning. We need to empower them to become positive and resilient participants in school and society.

  • supports students in early childhood settings through to senior years of schooling
  • enables schools to establish  a continuum of supports that are intensified to meet the needs of every student
  • is team driven, using a problem solving approach (data, systems and practices) that engages students, parents and all school staff

How 2 Learn

At Griffith North Public School we are learning about and promoting the DEC initiative How 2 Learn. Through ongoing staff professional development we are constantly learning how to help students learn in the most beneficial manner.

HOW 2 Learn is based on research from leading educationalists and psychologists from around the world.

It is an initiative that focuses on the most important aspect of school; learning. The How 2 Learn initiative helps teachers understand how students learn and provides skills and methods to promote resilience and an open mindset to learning.  It focuses on not only content but the how and why of learning and empowers students with language and habits which promote successful learning.
